VetDel uses a technology-supported operations platform for structured intake, route planning, live status, and proof of delivery. This page describes what is available today, what is configured by request, and what is still in development.
Available today
Currently available capabilities
These capabilities are available today; each maps to a specific part of the delivery workflow described below.
EDI intake and output
VetDel accepts EDI 204 load tenders and returns functional acknowledgments, load-tender acceptance and rejection, delivery status, and invoice transactions with implementation support for connected partners.
Dispatch and review
Incoming shipments are validated and reviewed before routing, so exceptions such as missing addresses or over-weight items are resolved rather than dispatched blind.
Route planning & live status
Route planning and live GPS, ETA, and status visibility are provided through OptimoRoute, the routing platform VetDel operates on, including timestamped and photo-documented stops.
Proof of delivery
Delivery outcomes are captured with photo proof of delivery, recorded events, and documented exceptions so every stop has an accountable record.
Events & reporting
Shipment lifecycle events, exceptions, and delivery status are available for reporting so your team can see what happened and when.
Shipment tracking
Recipients and partners can look up a shipment by its VetDel tracking number for current status, without needing an account.
Configured by request
Integrations and handling set up for your work
- EDI and SFTP partner integration can be set up for connected partners; the specifics are scoped with you during onboarding.
- Documented handling and chain of custody can be configured where your shipments require it.
- Southwest regional lanes are evaluated by request, subject to requirements and availability.
